Our client is InSearch of an experienced Cost Accountant looking for a new challenge. Join this innovative and established company reporting to the CFO. Responsibilities include overseeing the cost accounting system, preparing and filing state sales tax returns, along with maintaining third-party sales tax reporting and customer tax exemption certificates. In this newly created position be a key member in developing and improving the cost accounting process. Tons of variety in this role!
Responsibilities
- Cost Accounting and Sales Taxes responsibilities
- Evaluate, update and maintain standard costs
- Analyze cost variances to identify discrepancies, propose the appropriate resolution and prepare reports
- Recommend changes to the processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit
- Prepare and file state sales tax returns
- Maintain third-party sales tax reporting, and customer exemption certificates
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of cost accounting or relevant experience required
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
